Job Description:
The University of Iowa Department of Internal Medicine Division
of Infectious Diseases is seeking an ABIM board eligible or
board-certified Infectious Diseases physician at the rank of
Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, or
Clinical Professor. This position will involve inpatient and
outpatient consultative care for general Infectious Disease
patients at the University of Iowa Heath Care Medical Center on the
University campus, Medical Center Downtown (MCD; community
setting), and possibly limited time at Medical Center North Liberty
(Orthopedic-ID consultation). Participation in an antimicrobial
stewardship program at MCD may be included as well. Individuals
under consideration must have an MD or equivalent. Additionally,
candidates must be ABIM board-eligible, or board certified in
Infectious Diseases. Excellent communication skills and eligibility
for medical licensure in Iowa are required. Evidence of strong
clinical skills, a record of excellent interpersonal and
communication skills, and positive interactions with students,
staff and faculty are desirable. Demonstrated experience working
effectively in a welcoming and respectful workplace environment is
