Job Description:
The University of Iowa Institute for Clinical and Translational
Science (ICTS) Research Coordinator Core is seeking a clinical
trial research assistant to provide support for ICTS by performing
activities which are vitally important to establish the research
core for the department, as well as to grow and foster innovation
through research support endeavors. The clinical trial research
assistant/ data manager will apply clinical skills to administer,
deliver, and evaluate research protocols. Duties to include but not
limited to: * Perform clinical/health care research activities in
various departments
* Screen, recruit, enroll and obtain informed consent for clinical
research activities
* Assist in the design, development, execution, administration and
maintenance of protocols and clinical studies and provide input
into descriptions of complex research procedures.
* Assist patients with problems related to protocol.
* Participate in the design; development and testing of clinical
research trial data systems.
* Manage and organize regulatory documentation.

Bachelor's degree in a Health Science field or an equivalent
combination of education and research experience is required.
* Working knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) in research is
required.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills are
required.
* Ability to work nights and weekends is required.
* Basic (6 months - 1 year) of clinical research experience is
required.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel is required.
Desirable Qualifications * Previous experience writing manuscripts
for publication.
* Experience with REDCap, Epic, ICart, and ACCESS is desirable.
* Previous experience in data collection and entry is
desirable.
* Experience in processing research regulatory documents is
desirable.
* A current license to practice nursing in Iowa by the time of hire
is desirable.
* The ability to work independently is desired.
* Excellent time management skills and ability to perform
