Job Description:
The Senior Application Developer position contributes to the
design, installation, configuration, administration, security,
operational integrity, and support of custom developed or
integrated software solutions for the Operator Performance
Laboratory (OPL). Leads software development, implementation, and
maintenance associated with the applications that are an integral
part of the position's scope of responsibilities. Projects include
working directly with OPL staff, customers, as well as other
department contacts and outside vendors. Project assignments and
priorities will be designated by the Director of OPL. - Specific
Job Duties and Tasks
- In consultation with OPL staff, partners with customers to
define functional/technical specifications and offer solutions.
Lead and support design and analysis -
- Reads all pertinent subject matter documentation and conducts
research to support analysis and design. -
- Considering research infrastructure and project needs,
recommend tools, languages, technologies, techniques, and
standards.
- Build development environment and integrate on aircraft and
simulators with support from OPL staff.
- Check software for defects as part of flight test or research
activity validation. Identify malfunctioning areas, fix issues, and
repeat validation. Create real-world or virtual test environments
and scripts to ensure program functionality.
- Estimates level of effort for programming and implementation of
tasks for the purpose of bid ad proposal. -
- Reviews project related material and contributes ideas and
seeks ways to improve assigned processes. -
- Participate in the planning process for developing operating
procedures, guidelines, and policies. For a complete job

Requirement
- A Bachelor's degree in related field or an equivalent
combination of education and experience is required. Required
Qualifications
- Minimum of five years of related experience designing,
developing and maintaining C#, C/C++, Python or other
object-oriented language.
- Experience developing code for and working with TCP/IP and UDP
data transmission protocols. -
- Advanced skills with relational database design theory and SQL
query languages. Demonstrated experience working with MySQL. -
- Experience with image processing, modelling and simulation,
coordinate systems and associated transforms. -
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, including
the ability to communicate effectively and accurately, both orally
and in writing, with technical and non-technical staff. Desired
Qualifications
- Experience with .Net Core platform. -
- Experience with Winform, FORTRAN, HTML, MATLAB/Simulink. -
- Familiarity with software development best practices such as
source code control, Git, issue tracking, testing, and validation.

- Excellent knowledge of Object-Oriented programming. -
- Experience in development of high-fidelity aircraft simulation
systems. -
- Experience in GPS navigation, including in denied environments.

- Understanding of aerospace industry, aircraft components and
structures. -
- Understanding of AI and OpenCV. -
- Understanding of agile software development. - In order to be
