Position Summary

As an indispensable member of the surgical team, patients rely on the expertise and high-quality care provided by our CRNAs. Our CRNAs perform pre-operative patient evaluation and coordinate the anesthetic plan in collaboration with the anesthesia faculty physician. They administer the anesthetic plan with a team approach in all anesthetizing locations throughout the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and perform post-operative patient evaluation and care.

Position Responsibilities

• CRNAs perform clinical anesthesia services, monitor patient care during surgery, and attend to preoperative evaluations and postoperative care of patients
• We offer variety, covering a full range of clinical specialties, giving our CRNAs exposure to a wide variety of cases and specialties in both an outpatient and inpatient setting. Additionally, our CRNAs are responsible for the placement of intraoperative spinals, epidurals, and invasive monitoring modalities
• Educational involvement available within the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics Nurse Anesthesia DNP program
• Our CRNAs can be either part of our core or rotating group of pediatric CRNAs at our new Stead Family Children's Hospital
  CRNA positions offer flexible schedules 5-8, 4-10, and 3-13 hour shift options with overtime available, minimal call, continuing education allowance and time allotted for educational activities, and paid licensure and certification fees. Relocation assistance is negotiable.
  
  Education and Certifications Required
  Nursing education leading to status of R.N., Bachelors Degree or equivalent
  
  Special education in Anesthesia which has led to certification as a CRNA, education must be completed prior to start date- New Grads Welcome
  Current Iowa Board of Nursing RN license to practice in Iowa
  Current Iowa Board of Nursing ARNP license to practice in Iowa
  
  Experience Required
  Demonstrated job-related experience with and/or commitment to diversity in the work/academic environment.
  Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  
  Desired Experience
  Prior experience in the delivery of anesthesia services as a member of an anesthesia care team.
  M.S. in Nursing or related field.
  Recent verifiable experience as a functional team member in a medical team environment
