Job Description:
Tippie College of Business is seeking a Career Services Manager
who is responsible for overseeing career services processes and
policies for the suite of : on-campus/full-time masters (Master of
Finance and Master of Business Analytics), Professional MBA, Online
MBA, and Business Analytics - part-time programs with the guidance
of the Director of Tippie Career Services. The manager oversees
career coaching collaborations across programs to ensure a
coordinated career services strategy. Additionally, coordinates
with the Strategic Partnerships team to execute corporate outreach
strategy and building partnerships for the college. With management
oversight for a team of career services professionals, the manager
leads the team to develop and implement career services procedures;
create, execute, and assess career coaching plans, provide a range
of tools, resources, and programming. The manager will benchmark,
identify, and coordinate systems needed to connect our students
with career opportunities, connections, and professional
development resources. The manager works collaboratively with
multiple units within the Tippie College of Business and is
responsible for contributing to a culture in which our core values
(impact, innovation, and integrity) are at the forefront of all
activities. The manager must embrace and support new approaches and
continuous improvement to drive results, lead a culture of
optimism, collaboration, and proactive problem-solving. Specific
Job Duties and Tasks* Responsible for the day-to-day activities and
guidance of their team members in coordination with the Director of
Career Services. Sets goals, implements guidelines, and assists
with any issues the employees may have. * Supervise, train, and
guide team, responsible for annual performance reviews and provide
professional development opportunities to support growth and career
advancement.* Supervises and provides coaching, feedback, and
development assistance to Iowa students through the life cycle of
the program. This includes individual coaching sessions to develop
and continually refine a realistic job strategy work plan for both
internship and full-time employment or professional development;
monitoring student's progress against career goals and guiding in
the achievement of those goals. * Provides advice and support in
developing and implementing activities to support the career
development process (e.g., company visits, expand Iowa brand
presence, regular programming, and access to recruiting and hiring
professionals).* Identify, recruit, and manage strong working
relationships with corporate recruiters in partnership with
Strategic Partnerships team. * Understand and effectively
communicate individual company hiring needs and desired student
profiles to hiring organizations.* Analyzes program and outcomes
data to understand needs, trends, hiring behaviors of prospective
employers and target markets to enhance the student experience and
create program opportunities. * Utilizes historical outcomes data
and activity to create future strategic and tactical plans for the
