Visiting Assistant Professor, Speech-Language Pathology Position
Description: The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders
at the University of Iowa invites applications for a 9-month
faculty position at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor to
begin August 2023. The initial appointment period is one year with
the possibility of extension for a total of three years. Suitable
candidates are those who can teach a variety of speech and language
courses for our Speech-Language Pathology MA program primarily in
the areas of developmental and acquired language disorders (subject
to change based on the teaching needs of the department).
Undergraduate course teaching may also be required. The position
can be 50-100% time, with full-time (100%) being 24 semester hours
of teaching over the academic year. Responsibilities: Primary
responsibilities include classroom teaching at the graduate and
undergraduate levels within the areas of speech-language pathology.
Required Qualifications: 1) Master's degree or Ph.D. in
Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program, 2) experience
with collegiate teaching (e.g., course instructor, teaching
assistant), 3) Certificate of Clinical Competence in
Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP), 4) eligible for licensure in
Iowa as a Speech-Language Pathologist, and 5) demonstrated
experience promoting an inclusive and equitable learning
environment. Desired Qualifications: Experience with 1) clinical
instruction and/or supervision, 2) administration and leadership
(e.g., involvement in professional organizations). Appointment
Start Date: August 2023. Salary: Commensurate with the full
